Last day of September. My birthday was good. I was out in Bencubbin WA for Earth Dance WA 2009. Thumpa Thumpa Thumpa Thumpa music playing all day and a lot of the night. It actually is pretty easy to sleep with. Great people walking around, dancing, talking, sharing, dancing, having fun, hula-hooping, dancing, talking, dancing, sharing, having fun….ha ha ha. Had my medicinal beer for my Birthday too.
The last night wasn’t quite as good for sleeping though. I had relocated my tent to be nearer to the healers rather than around the mountain from the music. The music stopped playing on Sunday around 4. The location near me that was labelled “Playground” had their own sound system, and generator. They cranked theirs up LOUD at 6 and played till around 2 AM. I was vibrating in my tent. Mentally, I relaxed into the sound. There was no sense in trying to fight it. I could either pack up my tent and relocate or stay put and sleep as well as I could. I chose to relinquish control and sleep. Still I could tell the next morning that I was more tired than I had been subsequent nights.
After packing up my tent, and doing breakfast I started to loosen the Healing dome. I didn’t want to do all the work so that was my contribution. The healing dome was a pentagon structure. Don’t know who designed it but it was done economically for sure. Looked like PVC pipe about a meter and a half maybe less connected with black plastic joiners that were flat between pieces. We took 5 sets of 5 lengths and laid them out in a pentagon with their centre sections. At the flat laps there is a bolt hole already drilled. The bolt had two large wooden washers about 3 inches across. Once these were bolted in place then the next layer out had two length sections connecting into a 6 directional section created. Then the middle was lifted which brought the 6 star next to its links to be connected with the bold combination also. Then the bottom which was maybe 10 lengths long was connected at the start of the door and to each strand down from the 6 star above. Very rapidly with many hands and little knowledge we had a hut that in the middle was shy of 8 feet and could hold 3 massage tables and one chair massage.
I left around 9 or 10 I think. I was not in a hurry, but still felt it was time to ease my way toward Perth. I stopped a few times for pee breaks and to stretch. My plans were to stop in and visit friend Jane Fitzgerald in Chidlow at her new home grounds on my return. Somehow I missed a turn around Moolooroo I think and was on the Great Eastern Highway sooner than planned. I had planned on staying north of this on secondary highways due to my slow movement in Ity-Bity, but that was not Ity-Bity’s plan I guess. I drove straight to the correct spot of Jane’s place but put in a call to be sure. Dirt driveway UP a hill that disappeared over the top. I am guessing the driveway to be near a kilo in length. I was expecting a house….NOT. They bought 85 acres of pasture land, and a camper van and supporting tents for STUFF. The big tent is probably 8X20 meters and is the “living room” for Jane, Shawn and two kids. The property already has incredible energy and will be growing more with Jane in attendance. I stayed the night and since they live off a generator, eventually pulled out my camp stove to cook breaky for Jane and the Kids. Shawn was already off to work.
At just after 12 I headed home. Home by 1, car unloaded, shower and bed by 2, I woke at 5 for a quick trip to town and managed to stay up till 10ish. Slept great again. It is colder here in Perth than it was at the Wheat Belt. About 150 k north makes a huge diff in temperature. A friend of mine and I are putting our heads together about a trip to Ningaloo in October. Temps will be getting hotter but it would be good to get away again. I have been trapped by my unwillingness to travel and health for too long. I may not have much money, but it doesn’t cost too much to travel a bit out of Perth and camp free.
One thing that sort of shocked me when I travelled out on Wednesday last week was how acoustomed I had become to living in the city with buildings stopping the view of distance. As I drove and the landscape opened up it was amazing as I could feel my energy expand as well. It was a good feeling and one that I plan on doing more often even if it means HOT travel in the summer time. Or I can go south to Denmark as long as Ity-Bity is willing to travel a bit more of distance and slowly too.
Enough.
Peace
